Children are born with the desire to connect with those around them, and social development begins in the earliest stages of life. Sound Beginnings classes offer the opportunity to socially interact and connect with both the child’s care-giver and her peers, creating healthy social connections that promote healthy emotional development.

Do planets make noise? The answer is no, but they do give off emissions (in the form of electromagnetic waves and particle vibrations) that space probes can sample, gather, and transmit back to Earth. Scientists can then process the data and convert it into sound waves. Because each planet emits different frequencies, each planet “sounds” different from the others. Check it out!
Optional Home Fun Activity: Color the planets coloring page on page 4 of your workbook
Bonus points for listening to the Planet's Suite by Gustav Holst while coloring. After, share with each other which one is your favorite!
(Remember, these activities are optional but can be a great bonding experience to do with your child during the week.)
